Many companies have recently discovered that private jets are reducing travel time, and adding convenience not found in commercial flights. A private jet charter can reach airports nearer to your destination, reducing land travel commutes, and they excel with comfort and have many amenities not found on commercial jets.

Use an inexpensive charter from your private jet broker to cut costs and time at your next meeting or convention. Fly in luxury accommodations aboard a Gulfstream, Boeing, or Hawker jet. They bring business class travel to a higher standard that everyone will enjoy and appreciate. Depart nearer to home, and land closer to your destination. That means less land travel and traffic hassles. The travelers will be less tired from their travel, and enjoy the business trip.

Take advantage of charter flight flexibility, and schedule your charter to meet your needs. There are thousands of available airports you can choose, that are not available to larger commercial airlines. Food and entertainment options make flights interesting, and checking in and getting away from the airport are much easier at smaller airports.

Jets offer faster travel and a smooth ride. Your charter can carry small to large groups, and cover distances up to 7500 miles. Many travel around 510 miles per hour, so short trips are a breeze. Private aircraft are a totally different experience than travel in larger commercial jets. It’s one reason many top businesspeople travel in private charter jets.

Discover the different for yourself on your next business trip. Charter private jets and reduce travel time. Have fun while saving time, and spend more time relaxing at your destination.

Travel expenses are a favorite deduction of many clients, because they love to travel and especially enjoy it when the IRS is subsidizing part of the expense. In order to deduct travel expenses, however, you must show that the expense has a business purpose and is ordinary and necessary to the business.

Travel expenses that have a business purpose include:

- Meeting customers/prospects/vendors residing in a different location;
- Searching for investment property;
- Meeting with business partners, both current and prospective; and
- Holding annual shareholder meetings (usually held in conjunction with an annual board meeting).

The phrase “ordinary and necessary” generally is defined to mean, “in the ordinary course of business” and that “the expense will contribute to the success of the business.”

If a taxpayer travels to a destination and while at such destination engages in both business and personal activities, traveling expenses to and from the destination are deductible only if the trip is related primarily to the taxpayer’s trade or business.

If the trip is primarily personal in nature, the traveling expenses to and from the destination are not deductible even though the taxpayer engages in business activities while at such destination. Expenses while at the destination which are directly related to the taxpayer’s trade or business are deductible even though the traveling expenses to and from the destination are not deductible.

Whether a trip is related primarily to the business or is personal depends on the facts and circumstances in each case. The amount of time during the period of the trip that is spent on personal activity compared to the amount of time spent on business is an important factor in determining the deductibility of the travel expense. Generally, if business is conducted more than 50% of the time in an eight-hour business day, the travel expense is deductible.

Travel expenses incurred on behalf of a spouse, dependent or other individual accompanying the taxpayer are not deductible. However, if the spouse, dependent or other individual is an employee of the taxpayer or there is a bona fide business purpose, then the travel expense is deductible.

Travel expenses involving a cruise ship typically are not deductible. However, they can be deductible if you are attending a convention on a cruise ship and you can show that attendance benefits your trade or business. No deductions for cruise ship expenses are allowed for meetings related to personal investments, political causes or other purposes.

There are additional restrictions relating to cruise ship travel. For example, there is a $2,000 annual limit on cruise conventions and you must attach a written statement to your tax return that includes certain facts about the convention.

Normally, expenses require simple documentation such as a receipt. However, travel expenses require additional documentation. If the IRS finds the taxpayer does not have sufficient documentation, the expense will not be deductible. The taxpayer must document the amount, time, place and business purpose of the travel expense.

Sufficient documentation of a business expense includes receipts, cancelled checks or bills. Although a contemporaneous log is not required, we normally recommend that our clients keep an itinerary of the business trip listing all business activities as documentation of the travel expense. The log should list all elements of the expense (e.g., amount, time, place and purpose) as this has high credibility with the IRS. Documentary evidence, such as receipts or paid bills, is not generally required for expenses that are less than $75. However, the IRS has ruled that all lodging expenses must be documented.

The taxpayer may deduct a standard allowance as set by the federal government. This is called a per diem deduction. In lieu of receipts, taxpayer will deduct the per diem rates. Per Diem travel expense deductions are not allowed for owners.

Good news for those who hate keeping track of all of those pesky receipts when they travel. The IRS will allow you to deduct your meals and incidental expenses for travel away from home even without receipts. This is their Per Diem Allowance program.

The way it works is that the IRS has a table indicating the amount of deduction you can take on a daily basis for meals and incidentals while traveling away from home. If you choose to use this flat, per diem amount, you do not have to keep track of the receipts for these expenses. If you are not an owner in the business, you can even use the per diem method for travel and lodging. Owners can only use the per diem method for meals and incidentals.

Of course, per diem allowances, like deductions for actual expenses, may be used only if the time, place and business purpose of the travel are substantiated by adequate records or other evidence.

The IRS has issued per diem rates based upon the Continental United States (“CONUS”) travel and foreign travel. New CONUS per diem rates become effective on October 1 of each year, and remain in effect through September 30 of the following year. Federal rates are on the Internet at http://www.gsa.gov/.

If employee expenses are substantiated using a per diem amount, and reimbursement exceeds the relevant federal rates for that type of allowance, then the employee is required to include the excess in gross income. The excess portion must be reported on the employee’s W-2 and is subject to withholding. However, as long as the reimbursement amount does not exceed the relevant federal rates, then the amount is not taxable to the employee!

Other technical rules apply to using per diem rates. Be sure to work with your CPA to make sure you are following all of the technical rules before using the per diem method for documenting travel expenses.

This is the mono 45 mix of the title track of Neil Diamond’s fourth album.
Help answer the question about travelling
How do you begin to start travelling overseas and plan for the trip?
This may seem like a weird question, but how do you start travelling overseas? I've been on planes and through airports several times, but I've never been overseas.

So, I guess my real question is how do you plan out a trip, reserve your hotel and get around in places where you don't speak the language of the country?

Maps, obviously are a big help, and learning a bit of the language…. But what about getting around the airport at the foreign country? Riding taxis? Or ordering food? I really want to travel in the future, but I'm not sure how I should begin…. Thanks!
Well, details as to where: I have many different destinations. But, true. I guess I'll need to give some details.

Italy, Hawaii (want to take my parents there), Costa Rica, China, Czech, Russia.

Those are a few of them. Thanks!

Travelers face higher fares, added fees and more crowded planes. So, what is a traveler to do? According to a recent Associated Press report on travel, “Nearly all of the largest U.S. carriers are making cutbacks. That’s bad news for travelers, especially those who fly out of smaller regional airports that are losing flights and service. And it’s almost certain to get worse unless oil prices drop and take the pressure off airlines to keep shrinking.”

And air travel comfort and convenience isn’t the only issue. Travelers booking hotel reservations, cruises, car rentals and vacation packages are also feeling the affect of rising oil prices on the ground.
Although many travel search sites exist, rates frequently change depending on basic supply and demand market conditions. Airfares actually change hourly depending on percentages of seats booked. Often times a traveler finds one rate on one site, and “surfs” to another travel search site to make price comparisons only become frustrated after hours of searches, discovering that the “low fare” is no longer available. Conventions can gobble up virtually every available hotel room, leaving the casual travel with few affordable options, driving the prices up and reducing availability.

Bidding online for travel deals has become “caveat emptor” with many people overbidding and not getting much of a value. Sometimes “fees” and “fuel surcharges” are not clearly explained and what seems like a good deal, really isn’t. No longer is it as simple as calling a local trusted travel agent for the lowest rates because most of the brick and mortar agencies have long since closed their doors due to the competition of Internet travel agency firms.

A new method to reduce travel costs, planning group travel has become the latest rage. Group travel specialists put together the free travel quote for families planning trips together for reunions, weddings, religious, and even senior events as well as affinity groups who travel for lodge events, clubs meetings, and fraternity or sorority vacations. Substantial discounts can be obtained this way due to the combined purchasing power.

New technologies are becoming available on the Internet to enable travelers to conduct “power searches”. These advanced search engine technologies are emerging to level the playing field. Using this advanced search technology, instead of spending hours comparing the rates and availability on multiple travel sites, a traveler can obtain more reliable and timely search results in just a few minutes.

Travel consolidators have also put together special trips, cruises, vacation packages or “deals” for private members who are able to choose from a variety of destinations that are “discount” and pre-purchased. This low cost approach has enabled travelers to visit the most popular destinations even during peak periods.
Travelers are also relying on creative ways to budget vacation, including frequent flyer miles and credit card rebate and rewards programs. Hostels have also become popular among travelers. And with rising fares, rail tickets are getting more attention as car rental rates have increased. “Off season” travel has also become a viable option for reducing the overall cost of a trip although weather conditions at favorite destinations are usually the governing factor.

Despite these challenges, travelers are now spending over $7 trillion a year online in booking travel arrangements and that figure is projected to double within a few short years.

    * hotel bookings, excursions, transfers, guides, conference venues, restaurant facilities etc.

What is and offers World of DMC’s?

    * a professional association of Destination Management Companies

    * a joint platform for its members to comunicate towards the incentive houses and travel agents

    * a presence at the major trade fairs in the incentive industry world wide

    * a number of yearly road shows in specific countries to meet potential clients

    * presence on the internet with their website www.dmc.travel

World of DMC is not an independent marketing bureau. They are no more then the members themselves. The board consists of members and they have no staff other then the members. They don’t pay commisions to anyone and work each for the benefit of all. The different members for instance help in a discretional and professional way their clients to get to know other member DMC’s in other countries for ideas about future incentive trips.

What are the criteria for DMC’s to join?

    * professionalism proved by years of experience and having renowned clients

    * dedication towards marketing yourself in trade fairs and on the internet

    * dedication to actively promote the association

    * only one member per destination, re-elected every year

    * yearly membership fees and stand fees in the trade shows

The association is actually founded with the purpose to improve the communication between Incentive Houses, Travel Agents and Events and Congresses Bureaus on the one side and Destination Management Companies on the other side. By applying to the association travel agents come in contact with a qualitative and professional agent in the required destination and will get ideas about the organization of an incentive trip or a congress or event. There are no fees. It is the easy solution for Incentive Travel and Events Organization worldwide.

At present there are members in the following destinations:

Africa: Egypt, Kenya, Mauritius, Namibia, South Africa, Tunisia, Zimbabawe.

Asia: Brunei, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam.

Europe: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Rumania, Russia, Slovakia,Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom.

On the World of DMC website you get to know the member countries of this non-profit professional association. They are all dedicated Destination Management Companies with years of experience. You can also send a mail with the Destination Companies you want to meet at the IMEX fair and they will arrange that they contact you directly for an appointment.

So you’re going on a trip. Fantastic! Exciting! But what sort of trip are you planning to take? Is it for business or pleasure? Where are you headed? Who are you going with? Just what kind of travel experience do you want?

Traveling on a budget can give you all sorts of experiences, depending on a) your budget, b) where you want to go, and c) what you want to do. Everyone’s budget will be different, and traveling on a budget means knowing how much money you can afford to spend and sticking to that amount. So if you have a budget of two thousand dollars, your travel experience will be different from someone who has a budget of ten thousand dollars. It’s all relative to the dollar amount, but knowing some tricks to help you save money while traveling will make your dollars stretch further therefore increasing your travel experience.

Do you want to travel overseas? Do you want to travel around your home country? Do you want to stay in luxury accommodation or are you going to back- pack? Are you traveling with children or are you honeymooning? Are you traveling with a bunch of friends or are you keen to experience a group tour with strangers? Do you want to go to popular tourist sites or do you want to experience a destination’s way of living in remote areas?

All these questions are things you need to ask yourself before you begin to plan your trip. You can either plan your trip with your budget in mind, or plan your trip, work out how much money you’ll need and save until you can get there. The first is probably a little easier to do because when the travel bug hits, you generally want to take off as soon as possible. Knowing your budget can guide you in making your decision of how and where you will be traveling. But if you have your heart set on a trip of a lifetime to an exotic island in the Pacific then you will need to save accordingly. It’s your choice.

Once you know what type of experience you are after, it’s time to work out the best way to get it on your available funds. Traveling on a budget is easier than you think these days. No longer does it mean living on stale food and sleeping in questionable accommodation. If you are wise and spend some time investigating deals to your chosen destination you could be able to enhance your traveling experience more than you thought possible. A bit of research will get you a long way when traveling on a budget.

Imagine this: you wake up in the glamorous, exotic, or rustic location of your choice. A smile sneaks its way onto your face. You’re living your dream of traveling the world… and, here’s the best part – you’re getting paid for it.

It is extremely difficult to write about this subject without sounding ‘hypey’ and ‘salesy,’ so let me just lay out the facts, and I’ll let you come up with your own conclusions:

Hundreds of billions of dollars change hands online every year.

• Thousands of one-man-business entrepreneurs are making a portion of this money.
• Internet technology has made business possible from anywhere in the world. All you need is a laptop or Internet café…
• With a little bit of training and know-how, creating a profitable business online that takes in a few thousand dollars per month takes about 30-90 days.
• There’s a growing underground community whose strategies have them making more money than their friends with ‘Jobs’ and they get to travel to wherever they like.

There are the facts. If you put it all together, there is no reason you can’t take an extremely small piece of the pie. In fact, if you made .00001% of the money being made online you’d be ridiculously rich!

So what are the methods to make this happen? There’s no selling your friends or timeshares or anything shady like that. These are completely legitimate, entrepreneurial ventures that don’t take any startup costs or a ton of training. There are MANY ways to make money online, but here are 3:

1) Sell digital information. If you’re an expert on a subject of any kind, you can quickly and easily create an digitally delivered product and then focus on selling the product online. This can be an ebook, mp3, video file, or even a simple password-protected website. The markup on these products is HUGE because they cost nothing to create or deliver, and they can be sold for $10 to $10,000+ dollars. Say you have a modest $20 download. If you sold a measly 3 products per day, you’re making $1,800 bucks a month. Sell a $50 dollar product (which takes no more work) at the same rate and you’re making $4,500 a month… for doing the work ONCE!

2) Sell stuff on Ebay. “Wait!” I can hear you objecting… “I don’t want to carry around old junk to sell while I travel!” By all means… DON’T! You can easily set up an inexpensive account with a fulfillment house and have them ship your auction sales for you. You can hire a high school kid or your little sister to ship stuff. Better yet, just sell digital products on Ebay and don’t ship anything!

3) Blogging. This is a great option for writers, photographers, and videographers who want to document their travel. You’re probably going to be at least journaling, taking pictures, or video… most likely a combination of all three. Well, did you ever consider making it into a blog that makes money? Setting up a blog to collect income from your advertisers (and visitors, if you choose) is easier than ever. Some bloggers are making $250,000+ per MONTH just for writing about their lives. Yes, you read that correctly. Per month. Not too shabby!

The real key to making money online is to take action and get started. Pick one of these methods, learn as much as you can from experts who have done it already, and then go travel the world!

Wouldn’t it be great to be able to travel around the world and get paid while you do it? With a little creativity and a lot of courage, those who intelligently plan their world travels can make a serious income while living it up in exotic, worldwide locations.

Let’s get into the ‘meat’ of how this can be done.

There are 3 types of travelers. Which one are you?

1) Savers – You get a job, or jobs, in one location, save and save, and when you have enough money and nothing tying you down, you go travel. If you’re reading this article you probably already know you don’t want to have this type of job. So, world travel job type number two is…

2) Traveling job seekers. These are people who seek to land jobs that pay them while they travel. Included are tour and adventure guide jobs, film and writing jobs, flight attendant and airline jobs, medical jobs, military work, and so on.

You can get one of these jobs following a very simple formula: Apply for a bunch of positions. Send recommendations. Make follow-up calls. Send thank-you cards. Sooner or later, someone is going to ‘bite’ and give you a position.

3) Systems travelers. These people are referred to as the ‘new rich.’ They set up systems using simple (but new) technology to constantly deliver value to other people, for which they get paid over and over again. If that was jibberish to you, don’t worry about it. Let’s go a little more into depth about what, exactly, this type of person does.

Here’s an example of a ‘systems traveler’ at work:

Katie likes training dogs, so she makes some YouTube videos and writes a few 1 page articles about some of the stuff she knows. Her ‘job’ is to help other dog owners train their dogs.

When she puts these resources on the internet for others to benefit from, the people who are serious will click on the links in her articles and videos to get more information.

When they do, Katie sends them to a product she has found online that pays her every time someone buys a product. In this case, she makes $66.46 per sale (the actual amount I make for selling a dog training product). One in twenty people buys the product, so if Katie sends 40 people per day to the product, she makes $132.92 per day.

Getting the idea?

Here’s a hint: 40 people a day in terms of traffic is NOTHING. And once the systems are setup properly, your travel job consists of tons of traveling and not a lot of job.

Jobs that travel the world are a dime a dozen. The ideal situation is to become a systems traveler with a job that travels the world. In other words, your online system covers all your expenses and more, while your ‘job’ is for fun and anything they pay you is just gravy.

They say it covers the cost of lost or damage materials and you're also covered for medical expenses if you get sick or hurt. Is it worth getting travelers insurance or is it just some kind of scam to get more money out you?

Of course you can travel just about anywhere with your kids on a budget. Like any travel experience on a budget you need to research and plan well to make the most of your travel dollar. Many places, however, are family or kid friendly and will throw in added extras for the children. So whether you intend traveling at home or abroad, look for places that will cater to your family’s needs.

RV trips are a great way to travel on a budget. In fact, traveling with a car is almost essential for families. It is usually cheaper than buying rail passes or catching taxis everywhere. But more importantly, it gives you that ‘door to door’ freedom that is necessary when traveling with kids.

If you are traveling overseas, have you considered staying in a hostel with your family? This is a much cheaper option than staying in hotels and many hostels are family friendly and have no age limit (except in Bavaria where you can’t be older than twenty six). You can request a room with enough bunk beds to accommodate your family and you can cook your meals in the communal kitchen. Huge savings to be made!

In the USA there are many places to travel with your family on a budget. Consider these options:

1. Camping. The cheapest option around for any travel adventure. Many campsites have activities for kids and if you don’t like the idea of staying in a tent, many places have cabins to rent that are still cheaper than a hotel room. Camping gets you up close and personal with nature and gets the kids outside and running around.

2. What about spending some time at a Working Farm or Dude Ranch? Look around for reasonably priced holidays at these destinations and you will find plenty of activities and atmosphere for kids and adults alike.

3. Head to Disneyland in off peak season for big savings.

4. The same can be said for traveling to Hawaii. Check the packages available in low season and see how affordable it is.

5. You’ll also find some excellent deals in traveling to Mexico. Go for all-inclusive resorts, especially in the low season.

What about if you want to travel overseas? Where are some good places to take the kids on a budget?

* Although Australia is a long way away and can be a bit pricey to get there, it is a very child-friendly place with lots of cost saving adventures to be had for the kids. Australian off peak is different from North America so do some research.

* Europe can be done on a budget with kids. Pick your destinations with the kids in mind. Get them involved in your itinerary. Stay in hostels and travel by car. You’ll be amazed at how much you save and how much you see.

* Some island resorts are very child friendly. In Fiji there are resorts where children under twelve stay and eat for free. Do your research!

* How about a family cruise? Cruises are great because they are all-inclusive, cater for families and you get to explore lots of places. There are some good family package deals to be found with most cruise companies.

So get planning and get packed. Plan your family vacation and check out the deals available. Going off peak is the best way to save money. If you are going to take the kids out of school buy them a journal so they can record their experiences. It’s amazing how much they’ll learn by traveling with their family.

The Internet gives you easy access to so much information that you can become overloaded. When traveling this is definitely the case. Friends and fellow travelers tell you to book your trip on line yourself – you’ll save hundreds of dollars. But is that really the case? Will you be able to access the best and lowest deals? Isn’t it quicker and cheaper to do it all yourself? Maybe – maybe not.

Beware the discount web site. Don’t book on the first deal you see. It may claim to be the lowest fare, but you won’t know until you look around and surfing the web for the best price may take quite a while and time is money.

Research of web sites stating they will give you best deal shows up many times as an incorrect claim. Many big travel web sites pay homage to their sponsors and advertisers, by showing their ‘deals’ only. In the airline industry, a number of small carriers are ignored and they may well offer the best deal for you, but you won’t know if their information isn’t displayed.

Prices of air flights differ wildly on the Internet. Try it and see. Go to a number of travel sites and look for fares to Sydney, Australia. See what you get. And this is what you need to do when booking your travel through the web. It might then be worthwhile to see what a travel agent can get for you. Yes they do have a booking fee imposed on your tickets but, did you know that many of the best budget deals are not available on the web? Specific web sites are only accessible to travel agents. UNTIL NOW! STUART S. TRAVEL is a full service on-line travel agency.

Remember that air fare prices change many, many times a day. It is going to be impossible to find the best deal. You need to be smart and organized and willing to spend a bit of time researching the best deal for you. Once you think you’ve found a great travel deal, remember to read the details to see if there are any restrictions. Will you be able to change your flight details? If so will it cost you? And how much? Those kinds of details. Things can change and your travel plans sometimes need to be flexible so make sure you know what it‘s going to cost you if you have to alter anything.

So if you are going to book your travel through the Internet remember these points: shop around and compare prices; be prepared to be flexible; ask questions; don’t believe everything you read on the websites; read the fine print; give yourself plenty of time to find the best deal and; if in doubt, don’t book it.

If it all seems too confusing (which many web sites aim to be), go to your local on-line travel agent and see what deals they can do for you.

Have you ever wanted to travel the world and make money for writing about what you see? It’s not as hard as you may imagine. Using a few underground techniques, you can be making a healthy income in no-time flat for writing about traveling the world!

Here are the ways you can make money as a travel writer:

1) Traditional Method: Selling Your Stories To Travel Magazines and Newspapers.

This is the most common and most well-known method. Ironically, it also pays the least of all the methods.

You can take two paths when selling your article to a magazine. First you can query a magazine on their interest about a particular subject. If interested, they will agree to buy your article if it meets their standards. The second method is to write the article, then try and sell it.

To find magazines and periodicals that purchase travel stories, go to the library and check out the most recent Writers Market and you’ll have over a dozen periodicals that pay anywhere from a few hundred bucks to a few thousand dollars for an article.

The risky side to this is that there are no guarantees of payment, and you must either have a great story or be a great writer to make this work. Not impossible, just tough.

2) Writing For Other People’s Blogs.

If you can write a 400-1500 word post on any given subject, you can sell the post to a blog at a set price. Heres why: Blogs constantly need new content. It’s how they stay fresh with their readers and how they stay well-ranked in the search engines.

However, writing a new post every few days is a difficult task! If you take over that task for a blog owner, you’re going to be saving them a TON of time and effort, providing their readers with great value, and making an income for a project that is relatively easy for you to complete.

You can get paid anywhere from 20 bucks to a few hundred dollars for this kind of writing… and it’s a LOT easier to do that writing for a magazine.

Think of it: You spend a day writing 5 articles and sell the articles for $30 dollars each. Now you’ve made $150 dollars for a couple of hours of work and everyone is happy.

3) Writing for Your Own Blog.

Another option is to write your own blog and use your travel stories to drive traffic to it. You’d be surprised at the number of bored, lifeless people who want to live vicariously through someone traveling the world. You can then monetize your blog by selling adspace or selling products related to your blog. This sounds basic, but it has made many-a-traveler tens and even 100’s of thousands of dollars per year.

4) Completing Writing Projects on ‘Project’ Sites.

There are literally hundreds of writing projects posted every single day on Elance, Guru, DoMyStuff, and other ‘project’ posting websites.

All you have to do is set up a free account as a content provider, then answer people’s requests for writing projects. Once you’re done, the funds will be electronically deposited into your bank account, and you can withdraw the money from any ATM in the world. You can then pick up another project… or complete several projects all at once!

Many projects go for $1000+ dollars, so it doesn’t take a lot of these to be able to travel well and travel often. You can even do the work on the airplane ride to your next destination!

They then went 26-44 in the second half for a combines 62-78 record on the season.
